Tim Walz is a former member of Congress, the current governor of Minnesota, and one of two choices for America’s next vice president. His running mate, presidential candidate Vice President Harris, will be facing off against former President Donald Trump and Ohio senator J.D. Vance in less than two months. Walz’s disastrous progressive beliefs and policies lie hidden behind a hokey small-town veneer. Make no mistake, Tim Walz is a threat to the American way of life he still pretends to care about.

The Early Days

Walz and his siblings grew up in the small rural town of Valentine, Nebraska near the South Dakota border. In school, he played sports and went hunting with his buddies. After his father’s cancer diagnosis, his family moved to the rural farming community of Butte, Nebraska. He attended high school there and worked summers on the family farm.

The Military Man

Walz enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1981, two days after he turned 17. His father, a Korean War veteran who earned his degree with the help of the G.I. Bill, encouraged Walz to do the same. Walz went as an infantryman, completing his basic training before graduating high school. He graduated from Butte High School in 1982 and then went to Chadron, Nebraska for college.

He was reclassified as a field artillery cannoneer as part of the Texas Army National Guard while attending the University of Houston. Walz returned to the Nebraska Guard in 1987 while he completed his college degree. He graduated from Chadron State College in 1989 with a degree in social science education.

The Teacher

Fresh out of college, Walz accepted a teaching position with Harvard University’s WorldTeach, a globalist teaching NGO. Walz spent a year teaching at Foshan No.1 High School in China. After returning, Walz became a teacher and coach in Alliance, Nebraska. Walz met his wife, Gwen Whipple, a fellow teacher, and the two married in 1994. A couple of years later, they moved to her home state of Minnesota. Tim worked as a geography teacher and football coach at Mankato West High School.

For nearly a decade, Walz and his wife ran Educational Travel Adventures, organizing summer educational trips to China for high-school students. Walz earned a master of science in experiential education from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2002.

Walz became eligible for military retirement that same year, but served another 3 years and deployed to Italy. He served in a support role to the active military forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, but Walz was not in a combat zone himself. He served for nearly 25 years and was part of the Minnesota Army National Guard when he retired in 2005. Walz took a leave of absence from teaching in 2006 to run for Congress.

The Congressman

From 2007 to 2019, Walz was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Minnesota’s 1st district. He was a ranking member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee from 2017 until he left office. In a shocker to nobody, Walz voted like a progressive, resulting in an abysmal report card by the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank. Walz voted in favor of things like ballooning the federal budget and expanding abortion but voted against increased transparency for the federal government.

The Governor of Minnesota

Walz became the governor of Minnesota in 2019. He was quickly put to the test under COVID and failed. Walz behaved like a tyrant while dealing with COVID-19.

He set up and defended Minnesota’s COVID-19 snitch hotline and directed police to issue citations with $1,000 fines and 90 days in jail as punishment. Further, his government limited indoor gatherings to 10 people, capped outdoor gatherings at 25 people, declared statewide mask mandates, and more. His progressive politics made him soft on crime and unwilling to quickly crack down on the chaos inflicted on Minnesotans by leftist rioters during the 2020 BLM riots.

The Democratic Party’s VP Nominee’s Controversies

Walz endorsed Kamala for president back in July. A few weeks later in August, Harris picked Walz as her vice presidential running mate. Here are just some of the numerous controversies hiding behind Tim Walz.

The DEI Dope

Walz’s progressive politics take an even darker turn. He has pushed woke ideology like DEI, principles pulled from intersectionality, a sociological framework that divides people into oppressors and oppressed because of its roots in post-modernist neo-Marxist theory. Walz signed Executive Order 23-12, “renewing both the Governor’s One Minnesota Council on Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity and the Governor’s Community Council on Inclusion and Equity .”

Further, in a testament to just how progressive Tim Walz is, he has previously compared socialism to neighborliness. Hmm, so Walz holds a degree in social sciences education, has compared socialism to neighborliness, and pushes cultural Marxism via DEI too. Coincidence? You decide.

The China Man

Walz’s longstanding connections to the Chinese state have created cause for concern among Americans. The NY Post reported back in August that Walz taught at China’s state-run Macau Polytechnic University until at least 2007. It makes one wonder if Walz is familiar with the Chinese term, “baizuo“.

The Military Missteps

While Walz was attending a pro-gun control event, he stated that he’d carried “weapons of war while in war”, even though he hadn’t served in a combat zone. After scrutiny, the Harris campaign altered Walz’s bio and released a statement, stating that he’d “misspoken”. Additionally, Walz has been called out for the timing of his military retirement and his final rank has been called into question.

According to the AP, by February 2005, Walz announced that he was considering a run for Congress. Walz’s battalion was notified of a possible deployment to Iraq in mid-March. Though he had said he’d go with his battalion, in May of 2005, less than two months later, Walz retired from the National Guard. Doug Julin, a Minnesota Guard command sergeant major senior to Walz, told CNN back in August that Walz had assured him weeks before that he would be going forward with the battalion. The retirement took Julin by surprise.

Further, Walz misstated his final rank as a command sergeant major. His official campaign website stated that he was a “retired command sergeant major”, but was later updated to read he “once served at the command sergeant major rank”. The truth is that while he did serve as a command sergeant major at one point, he didn’t fulfill the requirements to retire as one, so he retired as a master sergeant instead.

A Nation in Decline: America’s Uncertain Future

Times are tough in America and people are tense. Americans have low trust in the federal government. Interested Americans have a chance to see Walz face off against his VP opponent, J.D. Vance, on October 1st. All of that lays the table for one hell of an election this November. It’s up to voters to decide who they think is the best VP for the job. Do they want the pro-MAGA small government conservatives or big government quasi-communists? Your move, America.
