is an American attorney and the current Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). He’s served multiple Democrat presidents.
Mayorkas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1981 with a B.A. in history. He earned a J.D. in 1985 from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. Mayorkas worked as a litigation associate in private practice.
Mayorkas served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California from 1989 to 1998. He focused on a variety of white-collar crimes ranging from tax evasion to money laundering.
Mayorkas was appointed the United States Attorney for the Central District of California in 1998 by President Bill Clinton after being recommended by Senator Dianne Feinstein. Here he focused on Mexican Mafia murders and RICO cases. After leaving the DOJ in 2001, Mayorkas joined O’Melveny & Myers as a litigation partner.
Mayorkas then served as the DHS’s Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) from 2009 to 2013.
He was later appointed by President Barack Obama as the Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security and served from 2013 to 2016. He led the development and implementation of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), making it easier for illegal immigrants to stay in America via the exploitation of migrant children.
After leaving the government, Mayorkas worked in the private sector from 2016 to 2021. He became a partner at WilmerHale, where he co-chaired the firm’s cybersecurity and privacy practice.
Mayorkas was sworn in as the 7th United States Secretary of Homeland Security in 2021 under President Joe Biden. He has reversed many Trump-era immigration policies, including the Migrant Protection Protocols (“Remain in Mexico”) policy.
Additionally, Mayorkas implemented new immigration policies that provided pathways for certain illegal immigrants to gain legal status. This included creating task forces to reunify families separated at the border.
Mayorkas oversaw the response to a significant increase in border crossings in 2022. He continued to introduce measures to manage the situation in ways that were more amenable to leftist sensibilities.
After Elon Musk bought Twitter in 2022, he unleashed a treasure trove of internal documents to journalists Matt Taibi, Michael Shellenberger, and more. The FBI, CIA, DHS, and DNI were exposed as being part of a “censorship-industrial complex” scheme. In other words, the intelligence community colluded with the private sector to censor people and posts counter to the deep state regime.
Additionally, the DHS formed a Disinformation Governance Board, headed by Nina Jankowicz. She later resigned and tried to sue Fox News for defamation. The White House defended her and the DHS board.
Mayorkas has been accused of lying under oath to Congress. Repeated calls for his impeachment were made.
In February of this year, the House of Representatives voted to impeach Mayorkas for his negligence towards the border. The Senate rejected both articles of impeachment against him.
In April of this year, Biden appointed Mayorkas as the chair of the DHS’s Artificial Intelligence Safety and Security Board (AISSB). Secretary Mayorkas appointed the following members of the Board:
Despite being the brains behind xAI and Grok, Elon Musk’s invite to the board is nonexistent. Grok is xAI’s competitor to Altman’s ChatGPT and other AIs.
Back in February, Musk polled X on impeaching Mayorkas, which may have had something to do with it.
Jose Ibarra is an illegal alien who was convicted for the brutal murder of Laken Riley, a Georgia nursing student. This is not the only time that illegal immigrants in America have committed heinous crimes.
After reading Ibarra’s parole file, Senator Hawley of Missouri accused Mayorkas of lying about the case.
In July, Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky accused Mayorkas and the DHS of deleting records about J6 despite Congress issuing preservation commands. Mayorkas has been accused of engaging in obstruction of Congress.
Before hurricane season hit, Mayorkas claimed that FEMA was ready for it. Nothing further could have been from the truth. FEMA somehow didn’t have enough funding to help the victims of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. For more information on FEMA’s fumbling of emergency management under Mayorkas, check out Glenn Beck’s profile in Faces of Intrepidity.
Over the past week, large drones have been sighted flying above New Jersey. Many people are worried that America’s national security has been compromised by these drones. Mayorkas went on CNN with Wolf Blitzer to talk about the surreal situation.
John Ferguson, the CEO of a drone company named Saxon Aerospace, offered his expert opinion on the ongoing situation.
Alejandro Mayorkas has managed to secure his place in the annals of bureaucratic history, not for his competence, but for his remarkable ability to screw things up. His tenure at the DHS will be remembered not for safeguarding the nation, but for showcasing how one can fail upwards in government so spectacularly that one can’t help but wonder if it was intentional.
